Description: Set among the beautiful pines and dogwood trees, Palestine, Texas, is a graceful and romantic city where Victorian homes and bed & breakfasts are neighbors of modern hotels and restaurants. Large magnolia trees and white columns welcome you to this gateway of a bygone era. Over 1,800 historical sites grace Palestine, second only to Galveston.

Description: The Howard House is one of the finest examples of Greek Revival architecture remaining in Texas Today. Built in 1848, by Judge Reuben Reeves in one of the earliest areas of Palestine to develop. In 1850 Colonel G.R. Howard purchased the home, and in 1964 the house was sold to the city to be used as a museum.

Reagan Park

Description: Large public park established in 1911 named for John H. Reagan a Palestine resident pioneer Postmaster General of the Confederacy U.S. Senator among many public offices he held. Established in 1911 from a tract of land known as Micheaux Woods. Bandstand was built in 1976 for the U.S. Bicentennial with funds raised by the Chamber of Commerce. Park now has a children's playground (funded by Palestine Junior Service League) walking & biking trails ,tennis court and Museum for East Texas Culture.
